What it means to be a DBS Patient Ambassador

Becoming a DBS Patient Ambassador is more than just sharing your story. It’s about making a meaningful impact on others' lives.

As someone who has experienced Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) firsthand — either for Parkinson’s disease (PD) or essential tremor (ET) — you have the unique ability to connect with prospective patients and their families in a way that no one else can.

Our DBS Patient Ambassador initiative is designed to:

  • Inspire confidence: Share your personal experience to help others feel empowered in their decision-making process.
  • Provide real-world insights: Offer a patient’s perspective on life with DBS, from the procedure itself to the daily impact it has on managing your symptoms.
  • Foster connection: Be a source of support and understanding for those who are navigating the challenges of these conditions.

As a Patient Ambassador, you’ll have the flexibility to participate in ways that work for you — whether it’s speaking with patients over the phone, participating in webinars, or sharing your story at in-person events.

You can make a difference.
