Talk to a DBS Patient Ambassador

Sometimes, it helps to talk to someone who understands. Boston Scientific’s Patient Ambassadors are volunteers who live with Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and are here to share their stories and answer your questions.

Would you like to speak with a DBS Patient Ambassador?

Someone who knows what you’re facing

Our Patient Ambassadors understand what it’s like to live with Parkinson’s disease (PD) or essential tremor (ET) and how life-changing Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) can be. They volunteer to share their personal experiences and answer your questions from a patient’s perspective. Note: Ambassadors are not employees of Boston Scientific and cannot provide medical advice.

DBS has allowed me to make every single day count. I can pursue my passions and enjoy being a champion and guide for the Parkinson's community.

DBS has given me my freedom and independence back. It has allowed me to define my own life in my own terms rather than being defined by Parkinson's disease.

For me, DBS was like turning the clock back. It gave me the ability to live my life again. I'm doing things that I thought I'd never be able to do.

DBS changed my life for the better - socially, emotionally, and physically! No longer do I worry about eating in public, spilling my coffee, or shaking up a storm. It's a privilege to talk with people going through their own ET journeys.

Before DBS, I was living for the short "on-times" with the PD medicine, along with the many side effects that came with them. Now, eight years after DBS, I'm still taking a fraction of the medicine I was before and have my life back!

I couldn't go on through life wondering what it might be like to live as close to tremor-free as possible. Meds weren't cutting it, and DBS was the best option available. I'm glad I chose Boston Scientific!
